A woman passed away in Florida when a car struck the motorcycle she was riding. Meanwhile, her husband was injured in the crash. The motorcycle accident took along U.S. Highway 19.

Events leading up to the Florida motorcycle crash

The motorcycle collision occurred at about 7:50 p.m. on a recent Friday. According to authorities, a 21-year-old woman and her 19-year-old husband were on a motorcycle. All of a sudden, a sport utility vehicle struck the motorcycle.

The wife on the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the accident scene. Her husband, who had been married to her for only four months, suffered an injury to his neck, broke his collarbone and received road rash. The sport utility vehicle driver was charged with improperly changing lanes in connection with the accident.

Legal recourse available following the accident

The surviving husband of the woman who died in the Florida motorcycle crash may decide to file a wrongful death claim against the sport utility vehicle driver, seeking the reimbursement of financial damages. The man may present proof of the woman’s charge in civil court with the goal of establishing liability in the fatal accident. If he is successful in court, he might be awarded financial damages to cover his deceased wife’s funeral costs. No amount of money can undo the events that led to the deadly motorcycle crash, but a successfully litigated claim may help the man experience a sense of justice and more easily move forward from the ordeal.
