A man died in a crash after a car crashed into his motorcycle in Florida. The accident occurred on Interstate 95. According to authorities, it occurred when the car driver was attempting to avoid another crash.
How the motorcycle crash happened
The recent Florida motorcycle accident took place on a Saturday night. Police said a motorcycle with three wheels was going south on the interstate, while a car was driving onto the interstate from another street. Authorities said a pickup truck suddenly entered the car’s path, and the driver of the car swerved to avoid a wreck.
According to officials, the car entered the interstate’s outside lane and crashed into the motorcycle. The man was thrown from his bike and landed on the road. He was then taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Police continued to investigate the crash.
How an attorney can help
Florida police may determine that the accident happened due to the car driver’s and/or truck driver’s negligence. In this situation, the motorcyclist’s surviving loved ones may file a wrongful death claim against one or both drivers, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages sustained in the motorcycle accident. If they are successful, they may be awarded damages to cover the motorcyclist’s medical bills and burial expenses, with the car and truck driver each potentially paying a percentage of the damages based on their percentage of fault. Financial damages may also help cover the loss of support for the motorcyclist’s surviving dependents. No amount of money can undo the events leading to the fatal crash, but a financial award may help the motorcyclist’s loved ones more easily move on from the ordeal.
